Welcome to Mayfield

Our six properties in Mayfield are home to young people with challenges including autism, learning disabilities, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, ADHD, ODD and pathological demand avoidance disorder.

The home is characterised by supportive managers who have a clear strategy to achieve the best for the children in their care.

A safe, nurturing home

We provide a safe and stimulating home for the young people in our care.

Our Mayfield site consists of six family homes: Sunflower House, Primrose House, Bluebell House, Poppy House, Honeysuckle House and Gardenview House.

Our homes have a family-feel. Each house has a dedicated support team and up to four young people living there.

Creating individual spaces

A young person’s bedroom is their own personal space and an essential escape from the rest of the world.

All the young people who live with us have the opportunity to select colours and furnishings for their room. They are encouraged to express their personalities with photos and posters, to help them feel at home.

Living together

Our communal areas are welcoming and friendly, with a good balance between safety and homeliness.

The young people are encouraged to eat together in dining rooms and relax in social spaces. There are also opportunities to use quiet spaces for downtime or to complete homework.

Each house includes a safe kitchen area which enables everyone to help prepare meals; an important part of developing independence and life skills. We support the young people to make suggestions for meals, encouraging healthy eating and a balanced diet. Personal preferences and any health or cultural needs are always taken into account.

Fun in the sun

At Mayfield we are blessed with two acres of land, providing the young people with plenty of outdoor space.

This also gives them an opportunity to socialise with young people from the other houses.

Our large garden is equipped with swings, a trampoline, a play area, football goals, an assault course and even a swimming pool! It is an invaluable space for the health and psychological benefits of time outdoors

Mayfield village

Our homes are located in a gated community within the East Sussex village of Mayfield.

While benefiting from the tranquillity of this semi-rural location, we still have access to excellent local schools, healthcare and recreation facilities.

Tunbridge Wells, with its extensive shops, sports amenities and entertainment venues, is within easy reach to the north. To the south, coastal resorts including Hastings, Eastbourne and Brighton provide fun days out.

My daughter’s well-being is always a priority as well as all the other residents. I couldn’t think of a better place for her to be. I am very optimistic for my daughter’s future as a result of this placement and the commitment of the staff to each of the residents.
