Positive Behaviour Support Training
Our Team Teach positive behaviour support training equips your people with the skills and confidence to defuse challenging situations and minimise the need for physical intervention.
In your training you’ll concentrate on de-escalation, communication and a person-centred approach, where the priority is the safety of the young person you’re supporting.
Team Teach positive handling training
The Team Teach approach is to manage risk and conflict in a way that is safe for, and respectful of, everyone involved.
Team Teach covers a range of scenarios, giving you insights into why each situation arises and practical steps to respond positively and proportionately. It is ideal for anyone working in education, health and social care.
Your training will give you a toolkit of strategies for dealing with distressed young people confidently and safely.
Team Teach training courses
We offer face to face Team Teach training courses at our Sussex Training Centre or can deliver them at any appropriate location in the Wealden area.
Our training is suitable for any organisations who support children or young people. We can also include training for supporting young adults in lower-risk settings. We’ll tailor the training to the specific needs of your people and the individuals they care for.
Your training will be delivered by a Team Teach accredited trainer with extensive experience of supporting young people’s behaviour in care settings.
How long does Team Teach training last?
Level 1 Team Teach training is a one day, theory based course.
Level 2 Team Teach training is a two day course, and covers both theory and practical techniques. This includes non-restrictive and restrictive practices.
We also offer annual Team Teach refresher training for those who have previously undertaken full Team Teach training.
