Dr Laura Tinkl
Chartered Clinical Psychologist
Laura has over 19 years’ experience of psychological support with children and young people; including specialist work with children with moderate to severe learning disabilities.
Her primary specialisms are in the areas of attachment disruption and developmental trauma. Prior to leaving the NHS in 2019, she was jointly leading a specialist CAMHS service for children in care.
Within her private practice Roots and Wings Clinical Psychology Ltd, she offers direct and indirect psychological support to children, young people, and their families. She also works as School Psychologist for two independent boarding schools, as well as alongside children’s social services and a national adoption charity, offering ongoing therapeutic support, and specialist assessments, to children and families affected by care proceedings.
We are pleased to be able to utilise her skills at Mayfield Children’s Home, including psychological consultation and support for the children, safe reflective spaces for staff, and bespoke training in attachment and trauma-informed ways of supporting children in residential care.
