PJL Healthcare Ltd offers 52 week residential care placements and individualised short breaks for children and young people with a range of learning disabilities, learning difficulties, emotional, behavioural difficulties and associated challenging behaviours and mental health.
PJL Healthcare Ltd was formed in 2006 by the current Directors who acquired Mayfield Home, a residential service for children and young adults with learning disabilities in Mayfield, East Sussex. Through substantial investment, vision and effort, Mayfield Children’s Home has been modernised and transformed into one of the leading providers of care for children and young people. In 2007 we set up a transition unit within the grounds of the Mayfield site for young people between the ages of 18 and 25. Please see the Transition area of the site for more information.
PJL also recognise the importance of providing short breaks for these children and young people, as well as the benefits they provide their carers, parents and siblings. Our excellent facilities and highly trained staff enable children and young people coming to Mayfield for respite/short breaks to have a stimulating, safe and homely experience. Find more information in the Short Breaks/respite area of the site.
In 2013 the company expanded to include young adults and Mayfield Adult Services was born, offering the same high quality residential support as well as a supported living service.
In 2015 PJL Healthcare Ltd expanded further and opened a second residential children’s home for children with emotional, behavioural difficulties. Based in a 5 bedroom house set in 2 acres of ground in Framfield, East Sussex. Using the same, successful formula used at the Mayfield site, Framfield Children’s Home is now established and enjoys the same, enviable reputation in delivering outstanding care.
High Quality Care
All the young people in our care are supported, at least on a 1:1 basis enabling the more vulnerable and challenging to achieve their full potential, grow in self esteem and develop their independence whilst staying safe and healthy. We place great emphasis on the training and encouragement of our staff to develop their caring skills, ensuring that all the young people in our care receive the best possible care and support.
