About Us:

Q         What services do PJL Healthcare Ltd provide?

A         PJL Healthcare Ltd have three services.  Two children’s residential services, Mayfield Children’s Home (which also has a respite/short breaks facility) and Framfield Children’s Home, plus an adult provision, Mayfield Adult Services offering residential and supported living care at the Mayfield site.

Q         How many children and young people do PJL Healthcare Ltd look after?

A         Mayfield Children’s Home is registered to accommodate 16 children which also includes children staying on respite break and Framfield Children’s Home can accommodate 4 children.  Mayfield Adult Services can accommodate 4 young adults in residential accommodation and an additional 4 as supported living.


Q         I have never worked in care before, can I still apply to be a Support Worker?

A         Yes we employ people based on their values and are happy to consider applicants without previous experience.  If you are successful, we provide full training, free of charge through our in-house training centre

Q         Why do you need applicants to have a full driving licence?

A     You will need a full driving licence to be able to drive our company cars to take our young people out and about

Q         Do I have to work weekends?

A         Yes, our young people need looking after 24/7.  Depending on which of our services you work for and how many hours you work, there will always be a requirement to work some weekends

 Q         Do you have jobs that work around school hours?

A         No unfortunately we cannot cater for school hour contracts.  Our rotas are worked out according to the needs of each service and will be a mixture of shift times.

Q         Will I have to work at night?

A         No, we have a separate night team so our day time workers never work at night and our waking night team do not work during the day.

 Q         It says that offers of jobs are subject to enhanced DBS disclosure, do I need to pay for it?

A         No, if you have been offered a job, we will pay for an enhanced DBS disclosure as well as paying for the update service.


Q         Do you have any vacancies at any of your services?  I have a child that needs a placement?

A         If you send an enquiry via our referrals page with some details about the child’s needs, we will be happy to consider it and will be in touch.  Please note, we only take new children as a planned placement and we are unable to accept emergency or same day referrals. (click here to submit your enquiry)
