Training for excellence
We are passionate about caring for the young people who live with us. Our outstanding training helps us transform this enthusiasm into care of the highest standard.
We are lucky to have our own Training Centre and the majority of our training is managed in-house, under the guidance and annual audit of NCFE CACHE (the Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education).

Safety
The safety of those who live with us, and our team, is an essential part of our training.
Everyone receives robust health and safety training, including emergency first aid at work, safeguarding, infection control and L2 food safety.
Our safety training also focuses on the potential for difficult or dangerous situations to arise. We study ways to prevent these situations, de-escalate them at the first sign of trouble and, when necessary, manage them through techniques such as Team Teach restraints.
Positivity
Our team are trained in various techniques to encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
An important facet of our training is Systemic Therapy, for which we use the assistance of a Systemic Family Psychotherapist. Rather than just focussing on the individual, this takes into account the people who are around them. Using the strength of these relationships, we encourage the sharing of thoughts and emotions. This helps us understand each other better and develops more positive behaviour.
